Tuesday’s best bets on TV

Tuesday’s best bets on TV include:

“The Night Manager”: Hugh Laurie, best known for his role as the gruff, pill-popping physician in “House,” returns to television in this slick miniseries adaptation of spymaster John le Carre’s novel. He plays Richard Roper, a billionaire businessman and ruthless arms dealer who becomes the target of Jonathan Pine (Tom Hiddleston), a hotel manager turned MI6 agent. Olivia Coleman stars as the woman who recruits Pine. 10 p.m. Tuesday, AMC.

“Containment” is a new limited drama series about a mysterious fatal virus that breaks out in Atlanta and leads to a desperate race for a cure. Of course this is a TV show, so there’s also a conspiracy involved. 9 p.m., The CW.
